Bulletin

Solar activity is low, there were no C-class flares reported during passed 24 hours, moreover last B-class flare was reported more than 24 hours ago. The isolated B-class flares are still possible in the coming hours. No Earth directed CMEs have been observed and the solar protons remained at background level.

The solar wind speed is presently 450 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) magnitude is about 9nT. The structure with the enhanced magnetic field was yesterday observed in the in situ data. At about 13:00 UT on June 11, sudden increase of the IMF was observed, and soon the local maximum of 14 nT was reached. The Bz component of the IMF wend down to -13nT. Simultaneously with the change of the IMF started gradual increase of the solar wind speed and temperature, and decrease of the density, and it was followed by the change of the phi angle. All this indicates possible arrive of the ICME (the solar origin might be associated with the CME and the flare from the NOAA AR 2661 which peaked at 16:58 UT on June 07) which was followed by the slightly enhanced solar wind associated with the small equatorial coronal hole which reached central meridian on June 08. Due to the longer intervals of the negative value of the Bz component and increased solar wind speed disturbed geomagnetic conditions were reported (Dourbes reported K=5 and NOAA Kp=5). The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet to unsettled and we expect them to stay so in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 14 stations.
