Solar activity report
Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

SDF Number 340 Issued at 2200Z on 05 Dec 2000IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 04-2100Z to 05-2100Z Solar activity has been low. A long duration C1 X-ray
flare occurred at 05/1823Z. An examination of SOHO/EIT images
suggest that it originated from Region 9246 (S17E51). The remainder
of the solar disk was mostly stable through the period.

for the forecast period.

The geomagnetic field was predominately quiet the past 24 hours. One
period of active conditions was observed at mid latitudes at
