Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

REGION 7981 (S12E70) IS THE LIKELY RETURN OF THE SUNSPOT GROUP
THAT PRODUCED AN X-CLASS FLARE ON 09 JULY. A FEW MATURE SPOTS
AND AN ASSOCIATED ACTIVE PROMINENCE ARE VISIBLE THERE. LIMB
PROXIMITY PROHIBITS A BETTER ANALYSIS. REGION 7980 (N10W15)
DECAYED TO A SPOTLESS PLAGE.
