Bulletin

Solar activity remained at very low levels. The only active region NOAA 2783 (Hsx/alpha) observed on the solar disk remained quiet and did not produce any significant flaring in the past 24 hours. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels with slight change for a C-class flare. No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were detected in the available coronagraph imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained under the 1000 pfu threshold. The 24h electron fluence was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours.

Solar wind activity showed minor enhancements possibly due to the arrival of a weak CME. The solar wind velocity increased up to 400 km/s (ACE and DSCOVR). The total magnetic field reached a maximal strength of 9 nT with Bz component varying between -7 nT and 7 nT. The phi angle was fluctuating between the positive and negative sector.

Geomagnetic activity was quiet to unsettled with maximum NOAA Kp and K Dourbes indices equal to 3. The geomagnetic activity is expected to remain quiet to unsettled within the next 24 hours with slight chances for isolated active periods. Active conditions are expected from Nov 22nd on with the arrival of a high speed stream originating from coronal hole CH 96.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 010, based on 21 stations.
