Solar activity report
Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

SDF Number 161 Issued at 2200Z on 10 Jun 2010IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 09-2100Z to 10-2100Z Solar activity has been at very low levels for the past
24 hours. New Region 1080 (S25W39) was numbered early in the period
today and is a beta magnetic classification. Region 1078 (S22W73)
remained stable throughout the period.

Solar activity is expected to be at
very low levels with a slight chance for C-class events.
IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 09-2100Z to 10-2100Z
The geomagnetic field has been at quiet levels for the past 24 hours.
Observations made from the ACE spacecraft indicated the arrival of a
weak coronal hole high-speed stream, with an increase in solar wind
speeds from 305 km/s to 461 km/s. The greater than 2 MeV electron
flux at geosynchronous orbit was at high levels during the past 24
hours.

The geomagnetic field is
expected to be at quiet levels for the next three days (11-13 June).
