Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD WAS QUIET TO
UNSETTLED AT ALL LATITUDES FOR MOST OF THE DAY. A SLIGHT INCREASE IN
ACTIVITY WAS NOTICED AT SATELLITE ALTITUDE AND AT HIGH LATITUDES AT
10/1300Z, COINCIDENT WITH THE EXPECTED ARRIVAL OF ACTIVITY RESULTING
FROM MONDAY'S REPORTED CME. THE FIELD FINALLY REACHED UNSETTLED TO
ACTIVE CONDITIONS AT MID LATITUDES, AND MINOR STORMING AT HIGH
LATITUDES BY THE END OF THE UT DAY.
