Filament eruption coronal mass ejection

A large filament that was located on the southeastern quadrant of the Sun erupted yesterday and launched a coronal mass ejection.
More information in our news item from yesterday. ESA/NASA SOHO/LASCO coronagaph imagery is complete and shows a very minor coronal mass ejection that is directed towards the east and well away from Earth. Even a glancing blow is very unlikely.
