Real-time plots auroral activity

Here you'll find plots of the solar wind speed/density and the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) of the last two hours, these are the first parameters in the predicition of auroral activity. The redder the plots get, the better it is for auroral activity! The Kp plot is a global indicator of the auroral activity on earth in a scale of 0 to 9.

Kiruna Magnetogram

This magnetogram gives you the values measured by the ground station of Kiruna (Sweden, Europa). For middle latitude auroral activity the deflection in the magnetometer data should be more than 1300nT.

EPAM - Electron Proton and Alpha Monitor

EPAM stands for the electron, proton and alpha monitoring and is an instrument in the ACE satellite that measures the electrons and protons that are sent with the solar wind. This is a very useful tool whether the CME is directed towards the Earth and when it will happen.
