The numbers after the word ''ETA'' on each plot shows how long it will take for the solar wind to propagate from ACE to Earth. This magnetogram gives you the values measured by the ground station of Kiruna (Sweden, Europa). For middle latitude auroral activity the deflection in the magnetometer data should be more than 1300nT.
EPAM - Electron Proton and Alpha Monitor
EPAM stands for the electron, proton and alpha monitoring and is an instrument on the ACE satellite that measures the electrons and protons that are sent with the solar wind. This is a very useful tool whether the CME is directed towards the Earth and when it will happen.
