The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at moderate to high levels, with a maximum flux reached of 2,840 pfu at 16/1835 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux maintained background values.

The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue at moderate to high levels 17-19 Jul and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels.

Solar wind parameters were indicative of a transition from a mildly enhanced environment to a slow regime. Total IMF strength ranged primarily from 4 to 6 nT; while the Bz component underwent only weak deviations. Solar wind speed decreased from around 425 km/s to an average of 375 km/s. The phi angle was predominantly in a positive sector.

Solar wind conditions are anticipated to be reflective of primarily an ambient, background-like state 17-19 Jul. The isolated, negative polarity CH HSS rotating west of center disk became less defined the past few days and is now only expected to provide minor enhancements in the IMF or solar wind speed.
