Informe actividad solar

Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

Informe conjunto USAF/NOAA de actividad Solar y Geofísica

SDF Número 365 Publicado el 2200Z a las 31 Dec 2006

IA. Análisis de regiones solares activas y de actividad desde 30-2100Z hasta 31-2100Z

Solar activity was low. Region 933 (S02E66) produced a C1/Sf flare at 31/1717Z. This region is classified as a DAO beta sunspot group. A very slow CME off the west limb was first observed on LASCO imagery at 30/2230Z. This CME appears to be back-sided and is not expected to be geoeffective.
IB. Pronóstico de la actividad solar
Solar activity is expected to be very low to low.
IIA. Resumen de la actividad geofísica 30-2100Z a 31-2100Z
The geomagnetic field was quiet. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit reached high levels again today.
IIB. Pronóstico de la actividad geofísica
The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet on 01 January. Unsettled to minor storm conditions, with isolated major storm periods at high latitudes, are expected on 02 and 03 January, due a recurrent coronal hole high speed stream.
