Solar activity report
Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

SDF Number 266 Issued at 2200Z on 23 Sep 2002IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 22-2100Z to 23-2100Z Solar activity was low. Region 119 (S14W59) continues
to slowly decay. Region 132 (N19W14) is emerging rapidly and has
more than tripled its sunspot area since yesterday. New Region 133
(S25E20) was numbered.

Solar activity is expected to be low
to moderate. M-class activity is possible in Region 119 and, if
growth continues, Region 132.
