Geophysical report

Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

B. Proton Events
THE GREATER THAN 10 MEV PROTON FLUX BEGAN THE PERIOD AT APPROXIMATELY 180 PFU AND BY ISSUE TIME WERE NEAR 50 PFU. THE POLAR CAP ABSORPTION EVENT ENDED AT 17/1943Z. THE FORBUSH DECREASE REMAINED IN PROGRESS.
C. Geomagnetic Activity Summary
THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD WAS QUIET TO UNSETTLED. SOLAR WIND VELOCITY DECLINED DURING THE PERIOD FROM APPROXIMATELY 750 TO 600 KM/S.
