Geophysical report

Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

THE GREATER THAN 10 MEV PROTON EVENT CONTINUES TO WANE WITH A TENTATIVE END TIME AT 05/1515Z. HOWEVER, THE FLUX IS HOVERING NEAR THE 10 PFU MARK, SO FURTHER TIME MUST PASS TO CONFIRM THAT END.
C. Geomagnetic Activity Summary
THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD WAS QUIET TO UNSETTLED. THE POLAR CAP ABSORPTION EVENT THAT BEGAN ON 04/1040Z, ENDED AT 05/0420Z AFTER REACHING A MAXIMUM ABSORPTION OF 2.5 DB AT 04/1850Z.
