Sun Burn
While watching the latest sunspot label transverse the Sun until it disappeared and never seeing anything remotely resembling a sunspot I wondered if the recent disturbance would have been seen by astronomers a hundred years ago? Would telescopes two hundred years ago been able to see relatively minor disturbances on the sun's surface? Is there a set of rules regarding telescopic power that levels the playing field between what was seen(or not) centuries ago and what we can see today?
