Hayday
Hey, so for the past couple of days I've noticed on the x-ray chart that it has been dropping pretty hard once a day for the past week (I see it over on tesis lebedev), I was wondering what causes it and what it means/does? Vancanneyt Sander
It's eclipse season for the GOES satellite. This means that the Sun gets blocked by the moon from the viewpoint of the satellite causing a data gap with no readings due to the eclipse and when the Moon goes away it slowly detects x-rays again and starts from very low to the normal level. Marcel de Bont
A small correction. The Sun gets blocked by the Earth, during eclipse season around the equinoxes.
