A southern extension of a large northern hemisphere polar coronal hole is facing Earth and an enhanced solar wind stream from this coronal hole could arrive at Earth in about 2 days from now." You can see there that CH707 was in earth facing position from 2015.12.29-2015.12.31 and that it was to be geoeffective on 2016.01.02-2016.01.03 . A new coronal hole CH708 is already visible and may be geoeffective between 6 and 7 januari. A good way to know how effective the coronal holes might be is to look at the 27-day and 45-day forecast of NOAA.
