  4. I would like to talk about interesting sunspots of the past. We can start off with region 12673 since it formed and grew rapidly, possibly during a solar minimum. More than half of the top 50 solar flares in 2017 occurred in region 12673, and is the reason for the strongest geomagnetic storm of SC24 [KP8]. For me, this is quite an unusual sunspot, because of its occurrence in late 2017, which might be a year in solar minimum. This sunspot could be comparable to region 10930 in December 2006, but that could be in an another topic of its own.

  8. How often do C-Class or higher flares originate from plage-only areas on the visible solar disk with no AR (no sunspots)? Qualitatively, the answer is not often, but what is the quantitative answer, historically speaking? For all C-class or higher flares, what percent occurred in plage-only areas on the solar disk (i.e. not including flares along the limb or slightly behind the limb where existence or nonexistence of sunspots cannot be determined)?
