Here you'll find plots of the solar wind speed/density and the Interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) of the last two hours, these are the first parameters in the predicition of auroral activity. The more red the plots get, the better it is for auroral activity! The Kp plot is a global indicator of the auroral activity on earth in a scale of 0 to 9.
This magnetogram gives you the values measured by the groundstation of Kiruna (Sweden, Europa). For midddle latitude auroral activity the magnetometer data should be below -1300.
These plots shows you the current extent of the auroral oval in the northern hemisphere (left) and the southern hemisphere (right), extrapolated from the measurements taken during the most recent pass of the NOAA POES satellite. The red arrow points to the direction of the sun (daylight side).
EPAM - Electron Proton and Alpha Monitor
EPAM est synonyme de l'électron, proton et Alpha Surveillance et est un instrument dans le satellite ACE que les mesures les électrons et les protons qui sont envoyer avec le vent solaire. C'est un instrument très utile de savoir si la CME est dirigée vers la Terre et quand il va arriver.
